Researching non-pharmacological interventions for community-dwelling people with dementia and their caregivers. Especially interested in making care more accesible, more inclusive for persons with dementia, and working together with health care professionals to make interventions more applicable to actual needs. |

My expertise is in the provision of person-centered and holistic care, from diagnosis until the end of life with dementia. My main research interests are in social and spiritual connectedness of people with dementia, end-of-life communication and quality of life at the end of life with dementia |
Young adult brain health awareness. I co-lead the Next Generation Brain Health Programme of research: https://preventdementia.co.uk/next-gen/ |
My PhD project is entitled A Mixed-methods Investigation into the Factors which Influence Frequent Use of Emergency Departments by People with Dementia. I have also worked in research with a focus on improving quality of life for people living with dementia |
I work in the HOMEDEM research project as a doctoral researcher. The aim of my PhD research is to assess the public's attitudes, preferences, and willingness to pay for new psychosocial models of care that promote choice and autonomy for people with dementia across the continuum of care, from home-based to residential care. |
I am a practice-based researcher who uses the arts to connect people living in dementia care to their local community and challenge stigma associated with the disease through co-creation. My work places a particular emphasis on exchanging with people in the later stages of the disease, who are often bed-bound or unable to communicate verbally. I have a particular interest in intergenerational care and in developing sensory and creative methods to better include those people as co-researchers. |
I am a Speech and Language Therapist, and I am carrying out a qualitative research study to explore how families, of multiple generations, can enhance communication with people living with dementia. The study aims to develop new guidance for Speech and Language Therapists working with people living with dementia that can be used in clinical practice to help families maintain connection and maximise their quality of life |
I am currently applying for funding with a research proposal that evaluates the effects of national public health policies on reducing the risk of dementia. This will contribute to the understanding of the paradox around the increasing number of people with dementia but decreasing dementia incidence in high-income countries. This project will use the latest advances in causal inference methods for policy evaluation and an inequalities approach. |
