I am a registered mental health nurse and a registered teacher with the Nursing & Midwifery Council. My professional background is rooted in older adult mental health, with a particular focus on dementia care and research. Since 2018, I have worked as a lecturer at universities across England and Scotland. Now based in Scotland, I joined the Open University in March 2024, where I primarily contribute to mental health modules within Health & Social Care.
I completed my PhD in 2020 at the University of Manchester. My thesis, Co‑researching with people living with dementia: A Co‑operative Inquiry, reflects my commitment to involving people with lived experience directly in research and shaping knowledge together. My work continues to centre on improving understanding, inclusion, and support for people living with dementia and those who care for them with a focus on co-researching and centring the voice of people living with dementia.
