My research, working alongside Dr Clarissa Giebel, Dr Dalia Tsimpida and Professor Chris Plack, focuses on the relationship between hearing loss and atypical types of dementia, specifically Parkinson's Disease Dementia and Lewy Body Dementia. In this body of work not only do I am to ascertain whether hearing loss is a risk factor for Lewy Pathology dementias independently (rather when grouped in an all cause category), I also aim to better understand the experience of hearing loss for people living with Lewy Pathology Dementias and explore whether current audiology services are appropriate for people living with Lewy Pathology Dementias.

Psychosocial support for people with young-onset dementia (YOD) and their loved ones. During this project, existing knowledge on needs and promising psychosocial support interventions for people with YOD, and their loved ones, will be integrated. We hereby aim to improve sustainable use of these interventions throughout the dementia trajectory

For the past 5 years I have been working on a large multi-centre study, The Rare Dementia Support (RDS) Impact study, leading on two discrete pieces of work within. The first explores how people living with dementia experience resilience, and how this may be supported. The second is understanding the lived experience of people affected by dementia in rural areas, and also how people have experienced the process of receiving a diagnosis of dementia in Wales, and what can be done to improve this for others in the future. Ultimately, both pieces of work aim to influence policy and practice and have a positive impact on the lives of people with dementia.
