Psychosocial interventions and dementia: a practical guide for better understanding, knowledge and implementation

The Fondation Médéric Alzheimer publishes a new practical guide dedicated to psychosocial interventions. Intended for professionals and the general public in a popularised version, it aims to promote awareness, understanding and implementation of these interventions. Psychosocial interventions are based on a rigorous and established scientific framework. In this context, this new guide presents 10 psychosocial interventions that have proven to be effective and that are frequently provided to people with dementia.  It is the result of a collaborative and participatory work between professionals, researchers, specialists in psychosocial interventions, academics, people with dementia and family caregivers. This guide is not a substitute for the training required to provide these interventions but provides a better knowledge and understanding of their characteristics.

The guide, the practical sheets for professionals and the sheets for people with dementia and family caregivers can be downloaded free of charge from the website of the Fondation Médéric Alzheimer at the following address: https://www.fondation-mederic-alzheimer.org/psychosocial-interventions-and-dementia-our-guide-understanding-knowing-implementing or by clicking on the image.
