INTERDEM Academy 2016 Summer School MultiDem: “Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Dementia”

Our second INTERDEM Academy Summer School MultiDem: “Multidisciplinary Perspectives on Dementia” took place on 4-8 of July at the University of Nottingham (UK) with 29 early stage researchers from 9 different European countries attending. It was a wonderful week filled with informal peer-led discussions, interactive group work, dementia care excursions, as well as formal learning through in-depth classroom based lectures. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the speakers, participants, and the Institute of Mental Health for a productive and inspirational week.

“I think we all left with an expanded awareness of the many advantages of multidisciplinary collaboration in dementia research, as well as with an expanded network of highly capable and motivated future peers from across Europe. (..) The Summer School is definitely worth recommending for PhD students and early postdocs in the field of dementia.”

On behalf of the INTERDEM Academy Summer School attendees of 2016, Emma O’Shea (Ireland) and Anders Møller Jensen (Denmark).
