The development of the Promoting Independence in Dementia (PRIDE) intervention to enhance independence in dementia.\u00a0<em>Clinical Interventions in Aging<\/em>,\u00a0<em>14<\/em>, 1615. &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6748161\/\">https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC6748161\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Promoting Independence in Dementia (PRIDE) program aims to better understand the factors associated with cognitive decline and \u201cexcess disability\u201d and to design and evaluate an evidence-based approach to maintaining independence in people with mild dementia. This article describes the underlying theory and proposed mechanisms of change for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/news.joindementiaresearch.nihr.ac.uk\/the-pride-study\/\">PRIDE<\/a>\u00a0intervention, a 3-session, manualized, postdiagnostic social intervention to help people with dementia live as well and as independently as possible in the community through engagement in cognitive, physical, and social activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The website committee has chosen the following article as publication of the month September Yates, L., Csipke, E., Moniz-Cook, E., Leung, P., Walton, H., Charlesworth, G., &#8230; &amp; Orrell, M.
