Symposium INTERDEM members selected as presidential symposium at IAGG

The IAGG world congress of Gerontology and Geriatrics July 23-27 in San Francisco was attended by 6000 delegates and included 700 symposia. One of the symposia selected as a presidential symposium was the symposium on stigma. In this symposium organized by Sarang Kim, interventions contradicting the stigma of social incapability were presented. Murna Downs presented an online module to promote social inclusion presented an overview of a free online module developed for the NHS by the University of Bradford to promote social inclusion (http://www.e-lfh.org.uk/programmes/dementia/open-access-sessions/) and Myrra Vernooij-Dassen studied and confirmed the capacity of people with dementia to participate in shared decision making.
