BLOG – INDUCT project

INDUCT (Interdisciplinary Network for Dementia Using Current Technology) was launched in March 2016 and is now well under way. Funded through H2020 Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions, Innovative Training Networks, INDUCT is aimed at developing a multi-disciplinary, inter-sectorial educational research framework for Europe to improve technology and care for people with dementia, and to provide the evidence to show how technology can improve the lives of people with dementia.

The unique collaborative partnership INDUCT comprises 7 world leading research organisations, the World Health Organisation, and IDES, a SME for technology, research and care, with 8 partners who include Alzheimer Europe, the leading non-academic sector organisation representing people with dementia and carers within Europe, Alzheimer’s Disease International, the global voice on dementia representing an international federation of Alzheimer’s associations, the World OT Federation, two other major universities and 3 other SMEs. The academic and non-academic partners within INDUCT are closely involved with INTERDEM

Our 15 Early Stage Researchers (ESRs) have recently been appointed and have started their research activities. Our International Advisory Board, International Ethics Advisor, and Ombudsman have also been appointed. We are working in collaboration with the European Working Group for People with Dementia in order to establish the best ways to have their input in our work. Our ESRs will have the opportunity to attend various training activities and the INDUCT Schools in the next three years. Upcoming training events for INDUCT include an e-learning module Living with Dementia: Personal Perspectives running from November – December as well as the first INDUCT Winter School taking place in Maastricht from 9-13 January 2017. There will be a possibility for the INTERDEM academy to attend one day during the INDUCT School. INDUCT ESRs will also have the opportunity to do secondments within international academic and non-academic organizations.
